What is the deadline for film submissions ?
Deadlines for submissions are announced annually on our official website.
We encourage filmmakers to submit as early as possible to benefit from lower fees and to allow sufficient time for processing.
Submissions will not be accepted after the final late-entry deadline.
Is there a submission fee ?
Yes. The Doha International Film Awards applies a tiered fee structure to support the evaluation and processing of submissions.
For Short Films:

For Feature Films:

Tip: Submit during the Early Submission period to secure the lowest fee.
All fees are non-refundable and payable via the official online submission platform.
Late submissions are accepted only if announced and within the specified late-entry window.
Can I submit more than one film ?
Yes. Filmmakers may submit multiple films, provided that each film meets the eligibility criteria and is submitted as a separate entry with its own fee.
What type of films are eligible for submission ?
The Doha International Film Awards accepts the following:

Feature-length films: Fiction, documentary, or animation (over 40 minutes)

Short films: Fiction, documentary, or animation (40 minutes or less)
Films must comply with the eligibility criteria outlined in the official Rules & Regulations, including premiere status, release dates, and technical specifications.
When will I be notified if my film is selected ?
All applicants will be notified via email 6–8 weeks before the official announcement of the nominees.
Only officially selected films will receive further instructions regarding participation and accreditation.
I am unable to upload my film. Why is that ?
Common upload issues include:

Do you accept international feature and short films ?
Yes. Doha International Film Awards celebrates global storytelling and accepts submissions from all over the world, provided they meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the official Rules & Regulations.
As a work-in-progress submission, when shall I submit the Final Cut ?
If you submit a work-in-progress, you must deliver the final cut no later than the deadline specified in your selection confirmation email.
Films that fail to provide the final cut on time may be disqualified.
What are the accepted film durations ?

Short films: Up to 40 minutes (including credits)

Feature-length films: Over 40 minutes (including credits)
Any exceptions will be specified in the category-specific guidelines.
Do you accept scripts ?
No. Doha International Film Awards accepts completed films only.
Unproduced scripts are not eligible for submission.
I made a short film and I don’t have any producers. Can I submit my film ?
Yes. A producer is not required to submit a short film.
The submission must be made by the filmmaker or legal rights holder, who certifies full ownership of all rights to the work.
